Tony Rimkus is one of the Sound Coordinators. The Sacristy Clock is the time, not the individuals watch. There is still a need for Ushers and Sacristans. There is in place a new check list for Sacristans.
Assigned Project-Projects assigned by Father John are not subject to second opinions by other members of the parish.
Liturgy will have have two chairs, Bonni Galewski, who will handle Adults, and Karen Krug who will handle the children and will be chair for the Parish Council.
Education and Formation: When training for confession before Mass, there should be nothing eaten, it is ok to drink. Bonnie Allen is handling the calendar for food/feeding before CRE.
A discussion ensued about Foster Care for our County. Father suggested more information needed for discussion.
K4J is going well. There are 16 children active, in pre K, K1 and 1st grade on Wednesday night. Karen and Colleen are to meet for integration.
Per Bonnie Allen, 4 of the 6 Confirmandi will be going to the Diocese for the retreat. As Sacramental preparation each must do 30 hours of community service. As it is difficult to find community service projects, a suggestion was made to clean up the old Church. It must be done before Confirmation.
Social Justice:During Christmas time 4 families were given $200 each. Social Justice workshop will be held March 11 at 10:30AM, 3 speakers from the diocese will define each portion of Social Justice. A Mental Illness workshop will be held in March/April about how this illness affects the family.
Parish Life:Eva gave her final report, with Judy and Phyllis asking for the support from members of the parish as they embark on Parish Life. On 2/2, Greg Wolfe & his team will be coming to have their seminar and see the new church. Parish Life will provide lunch for the group about 11AM. Lisa will give them a tour.
Finance & Administration:Myrna reviewed the lastest finances. A list of items to be completed is being sent to Dayco. A presentation will be given to the Parishioners at Mass on Jan. 31, to inform them where their monies are going. Working on a plan on how to raise monies to reduce the amount of interest paid on the mortgage. There are 9 pews left to sell in the old Church. We are advertising in the Lakeside Shopper.
On 2/28 and 3/6 there will be 2 tables with odds and ends to be picked up, e.g., directories, pictures of new parishioners pages to add to their directory, signup sheet for baking, and update sheet for email addresses. Father ok'd the use of the old cry room for storage for the Junktique Sale.
There will be a German Dinner on April 17, cooked by Arline and her buddies. There will also be an auction and raffle.
Building & Grounds:Tom is preparing a railing for use up to the altar. There was a problem with water in the old church and the temprary sewer hookup broke. All O.K. now.
Communications: Tom Shaw has the website updated. The next monthly family will be the Cowles. 150 photos of the dedication are posted on the bulletin board. Trying to update e-mail addresses. Father suggested that we concentrate on younger people and newcomers in the Know Your Parishioners portion of the bulletin & website.
Stewardship: Ron Scott, A significant part of our parish is giving little or nothing. A way must be found to encourage giving. Karen suggested envelopes for children. Myrna will put together and run on computer.
Fr. John Remarks: Father John asked that we realize our limits in order to reduce and eliminate unncecessary conflict. We should be careful not to give others the impression we do not need or regard them.
Father also asked that when you are given a project that he discusses it with you and you agree on what to do, he expects you to do it that way. Do not change the assignment or go to another person, run to Deacon Bob and receive another answer. When asked about the project, you then respond Deacon Bob said to do it differently. It is not proper, as it brings confusion and unnecessary conflict.
There are new members for the Parish Council:
Maureen Harrod will be an at large member of the Council.
Liturgy: Adults, Bonni Galewski. Children and youth, Karen Krug. Karen will develop program to keep our kids in the church. Bonni will assist Karen Krug with Liturgy
Parish Life: Judy Stanphill and Phyllis Stephens are Parish Life as of today.
Assistant Sacristan: Eva Bissonnette, who will assist Larry Levine
Next Meeting: March 11, 5:30PM
